A Thanksgiving Tradition That's All About Giving Back - Over $46,000 Raised For Local Waterset Schools
The Waterset Turkey Trot has always been more than just a race – it's a celebration of community, generosity, and coming together for a meaningful cause. Held each Thanksgiving morning, this special event brings families, friends, neighbors, and runners of all ages together to kick off the holiday in the best way!
This year was especially exciting as we celebrated the 10th anniversary of the race, and what a milestone it turned out to be. Thanks to the incredible participation from our runners, supporters, and our sponsors, we achieved our biggest turnout yet!

Just last week, we had the honor of meeting with the principals from our local public schools to present them with the proceeds from this year’s event. We are proud to share that each school – Doby Elementary, Dorothy C. York Innovation Academy, Eisenhower Middle School, and East Bay High School – all received a check for $11,696.
These schools and their leaders dedicate themselves every day to shaping the future, ensuring students have the tools, support, and opportunities they need to succeed. Being able to give back to them in such a meaningful way is always such an honor.
Bradley Fuller from Doby Elementary shared “The funds raised will be used to expand programs and resources that enrich learning for all students. This includes supporting academic enrichment activities, enhancing student wellness initiatives, and providing additional materials and experiences that strengthen classroom instruction and schoolwide programs. We are grateful for Waterset’s continued partnership and commitment to investing in our students and our school. Your generosity helps create meaningful opportunities that have a lasting impact.”
Dustin Robinson from Dorothy C. York Innovation Academy also shared “We are so fortunate to such an amazing partnership. The funds raised through the Waterset Turkey Trot have a tremendous impact on our students. We intend to assist students with digital resources and invest in our magnet programs. This includes providing educational experiences that promote international mindedness and STEM education.”
We are incredibly grateful to everyone who made this year’s Turkey Trot such a success. Whether you ran, walked, or were just cheering on the sidelines, you played a part in making a difference.
