Meet Lori - 55+ Active Adult Lifestyle Director at Regency at Waterset
At Regency at Waterset, a vibrant lifestyle doesn’t just happen – it's thoughtfully curated by Lori, their amazing Lifestyle Director! Regency at Waterset is an active adult community in Apollo Beach, Florida, and residents are thrilled to have someone in this role who has already made such a meaningful impact.
Originally from Wisconsin, Lori made her way to Florida to start her career as a Board-Certified Music Therapist, which eventually led her into the path of senior living. Within her past 25 years of multifaceted work in the senior living industry, she has utilized her skills as a Music Therapist with those stricken with Alzheimer's and Dementia, as a Director of Resident Programs, and as a Sales and Marketing Director. Throughout her career, her passion has been to create experiences for others that bring joy, spark memories, and foster meaningful human connections.
Now, she is ready to bring that passion to Regency at Waterset and is excited to be part of a brand-new, beautiful community. Her goal as a Lifestyle Director is to be the tie that brings people together, helps residents form meaningful connections, and truly feel at home. Her vision is to keep the amenity center alive and active through engaging programs that appeal to all residents. By offering a thoughtful balance of social, physical and intellectual activities, she hopes to see residents loving their life at Regency and watching the community continue to grow.
One of the most anticipated activities at Regency is the monthly themed potlucks – something both she and the residents love! Friendsgiving and different holiday parties have been a hit, giving neighbors a chance to connect over food, laughter, and shared traditions. Another program she is excited about is “Passports Without Packing”, a program she designed for residents. Every other month, the community “travels” to a new country through themed programming, entertainment and cultural experiences. It’s a fun and engaging way for residents to explore the world – no suitcase required.
All programming is driven by resident interest. When new residents move into Regency at Waterset, they receive a survey asking about preferences in regard to music, fitness, hobbies, and other interests. Activities are then designed based on that feedback. She also hosts resident meetings to gather ideas, gauge interest, and inquire about new clubs, ensuring that programming reflects what residents truly want.
Fitness is another major focus at Regency, for those interested in staying active. Seven fitness classes are offered each week including yoga, tai chi, and Zumba, with options available for all fitness levels and abilities. The emphasis of these classes is on movement, wellness, and enjoying an active lifestyle together.
At the heart of it all, Lori is most excited to see residents happy – laughing, connecting and fully enjoying life at Regency at Waterset. With her passion, experience, and dedication, the community is thriving, and residents are looking forward to many more memorable moments ahead.
