Waterset Wins for Best Master-Planned Community

The Southeast Building Conference (SEBC) has named Waterset by Newland Communities one of the top Master Planned Communities in the Southeast, awarding the community a Silver Aurora Award. Award winners were selected from entries representing industry professionals in 12 Southeastern states and the Eastern Caribbean and were announced recently during the annual Southeast Building Conference held in Orlando.

Set on more than 1,300 acres, Waterset is one of the top-selling communities in Tampa Bay and has helped to transform Apollo Beach and the southern portion of Hillsborough County. Waterset is a distinctive community with a variety of home styles which allows residents to interact with nature through walkable, interconnecting neighborhoods, ponds, parks and wetlands. The community features The Greenway and Waterset trailhead, a 12-mile passive/active trail for walking, running and biking with a planned link to the greater Hillsborough County regional trail system.

Residents enjoy a host of amenities which were built and designed with their input. The community recently opened The Waterset Club, a 5,566 square-foot clubhouse with game room, state-of-the-art fitness center and gathering room with kitchen. Outside the clubhouse, residents utilize a variety of sports courts, a lap pool, and a zero-entry pool with waterslides. The Landing serves as a community gathering place for residents and features a welcome center and a popular public café with a chef-inspired menu. Other amenities include The Lakeside, featuring family-centric activities including a splash park, playground and dog park for large and small breeds, and The Grand Lawn, where community events, such as the annual Concerts for a Cause series and other local festivals are held.

The Aurora Awards encompasses all facets of the residential, commercial and remodeling industries and are presented annually to outstanding residential and commercial builders, planners, architects, developers, designers, interior merchandisers and other housing-related professionals. The Aurora Awards program is affiliated with the Florida Home Builders Association (FHBA) and the Southeast Building Conference (SEBC), one of two regional trade shows recognized by and affiliated with the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB).
