Military Moves: Why One Resident Relocated to Waterset
When Chrissy moved from California to Florida, she wasn’t sure what to expect. Luckily for her and her family, Waterset made their military move as easy as possible. Chrissy sat down with us and discussed how Waterset made relocation a breeze.
Chrissy, like so many other Waterset homeowners, began her search at The Landing Cafe and Information Center. “The people that we dealt with at The Landing made the transition easier because even though we sort of already knew what we were looking for, they really gave us an idea of what this community could offer that others couldn’t,” she explains. “It wasn’t that hard of a process… Comparing this [community] to others - it really stood out for us.”
Chrissy explains that the coastal feel and temperate climate were part of what drew her to Waterset. “I liked the name Apollo Beach because it had the word “beach” in it and thought that was a good start….we’re beach people. I like it here because there is no winter. The climate was great for me. It’s very mild in the winters.”
Chrissy also likes that the community is active outdoors, which reminds her of San Diego, where she used to live before her husband, Tim, was stationed at MacDill. “When we were planning our relocation from San Diego, what we wanted to do was replicate, as best we could, how we lived there. We like walking through the neighborhood and seeing neighbors chitchatting.”
Finally, Chrissy loves living in a master-planned community. “When we came here from San Diego, one of the things that drew us here was the plans that were being made for this community. This was going to be a very large community with thousands of homes, all the different amenities.”
Overall, Chrissy finds Waterset an “excellent choice” for those relocating from out-of-state, whether they be military members or not. “My husband says, ‘We’re never moving again!’ and I have to agree.”
