Top Spots for Watersettlers to Explore Beyond Apollo Beach

Waterset is situated in Apollo Beach, less than a mile from I-75. Running through Waterset, Paseo Al Mar, connects with US Highway 41 to the west and US-301 to the east. This prime location puts you within a short drive of some of Florida’s top spots. Here are our favorites.
The Riverwalk
Located in downtown Tampa Bay, the Riverwalk truly offers something for everyone. This 2.4 mile stretch is home to top attractions such as the Florida Aquarium, Amalie Arena, Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park, the Glazer Children’s Museum, and the David A. Straz Jr. Center for the Performing Arts. Dining options include Tampa Bay favorites such as Armature Works, Columbia Cafe, Ulele, Jackson’s Bistro, and American Social. Whether you’re looking for a night on the town, a casual daytime stroll, or anything in between, you can find it at the Riverwalk, less than 15 miles from Waterset.
Hyde Park Village
Only 12 miles from Waterset, Hyde Park Village offers a variety of high-end shopping, dining, and entertainment options to Watersettlers. Shopping opportunities include apparel, health & beauty, home goods, jewelry, and specialty stores. Dining choices include the well-known bartaco and On Swann. Hyde Park Village is set among tree-lined streets and charming brick walkways for a relaxing atmosphere.
St. Petersburg
Just 45 minutes from Waterset, St. Petersburg is the perfect place for a date night or a daycation. St. Pete has a great beach as well as a vibrant nightlife. St. Pete is also well-known for its museums, parks, and other attractions.
Tampa Theme Parks
Busch Gardens and Adventure Island are the perfect spot for Waterset residents to enjoy a warm summer day or a cool fall night. Busch Gardens is a theme park with over half a dozen roller coasters, perfect for thrill-seekers. Adventure Island is its paired water park, which offers water slides, a lazy river and wave pool, and a kid-friendly section for the little ones. These two parks are just 20 miles away. Sarasota
There are so many fun things to do in Sarasota, it’s hard to pick just a few. Located 43 miles south, Sarasota offers a variety of museums and beaches, including the famed Siesta Key Beach, which has been voted the Best Beach in the US. Located just north of Siesta Key, Anna Maria Island is another popular choice among Waterset residents.
Orlando
